The chapter “From the Dead” begins dramatically—Marcus is lying in the rain at an android dump. In this detailed guide, we will break down each step of the character’s recovery and escape from this grim place.
Restarting and getting started
Marcus, who is lying on the ground, needs to be restarted — to do this, hold down the O button. After a successful restart, the system will show all the damaged areas of the body that need to be scanned. Press the hint buttons that appear to start crawling on the ground.
Replacing the first leg: As you continue crawling, you will find a suitable leg part. Follow the on-screen instructions: sit down, remove the broken limb, and install the replacement you found.
Second leg and lift: Move forward on the ground, pushing other androids away. Soon you will find another leg — install it according to the prompts that appear. Now Marcus can stand up.
The Way Through the Dump
Follow the only accessible route ahead. Due to critical damage, the scanner is malfunctioning and there is a ringing in your ears. Pass through the narrow passageway—one of the androids will suddenly startle Marcus, but keep moving.
In the area with multiple android arms, quickly press X to get through. When one of the androids grabs Marcus, use the hints to free him. Climb up and enter the open area—here you will need to find components for a full restoration.
Assembling the necessary parts
Vision module
The broken head of an android lies on the ground in an open area—examine it. Inside, you will find an eye that is suitable for use. Install it by following the on-screen instructions. Your vision will be restored, scanning will work at full capacity, and you will be able to easily find the remaining components.
Audio module
The scanning system will mark all the necessary details on the map. The audio block is located to the left of the large machine in the landfill. Collect it using the clues and install it — the ringing in your ears will disappear and the sound will return to normal.
Body pump
This component can be obtained in two ways:
- Option 1 (violent): Take the pump from the active android, but you will have to destroy it in the process.
- Option 2 (humane): Look closer to the hill — there you will find a deactivated android with a working pump.
Select the appropriate method and assemble the pump according to the instructions that appear. Once all the components are in place, Marcus will be ready to escape.
The Final Escape
Once all damage has been repaired, head for the large hill—this is the exit from the landfill. The climb is easy: press the buttons according to the prompts, and Marcus will climb up. It is almost impossible to fail this stage—the main thing is to respond to the commands in a timely manner.
At the top, a short cutscene will start, after which the final hints will appear. Marcus will cut the tracker out of his head — follow the commands on the screen to complete the operation and finish the chapter.
