Chapter 12: On the Run

Awakening and preparing for escape

At the beginning of the chapter, Kara wakes up next to Alice. First, check on the girl, then take care of the fireplace—light the fire using the buttons on the screen. The firewood to keep the flame burning is behind you, so take it and throw it into the fire. There is also a magazine on the tabletop by the fireplace.

While Alice is asleep, explore the kitchen. You will notice scratches on the wall and several items on the dishwasher: a mechanical bird, a clock, and money. Important: do not take the money; leave it where it is.

Change of appearance

Option 1: Abandoned House (main branch)

Go up to the second floor and enter the room on the far left. There is a jacket in the closet—take it, and Kara will change her clothes.

The next step is the bathroom. Go to the mirror and pick up the scissors. Kara will cut your hair and then ask you to choose one of four colors to dye it. The color you choose will remain until the end of the game.

After coloring, remove the tracker from Kara’s head by pressing the corresponding button.

Pull back the curtain in the shower—you’ll find a dead body there. Leave the bathroom immediately: Kara will see Connor and Hank nearby through the window.

Option 2: Parking

In the morning, get out of the car and try to open the trunk—it’s jammed. To the right of the car, near the garden cart, there is a tool. Use it to break into the trunk, where you will find clothes.

The hair clippers are stuck in the tire in front of the car. After cutting and dyeing your hair, remove the LED from your head. The magazine is lying on the ground in front of the car — read it, then look over the fence: there are police officers on duty there.

Wake Alice up and return to the fence to escape.

Route without detection:

Option 3: Motel

When you wake up, get out of bed — Alice will wake up too and be upset. Suggest that she take a bath. In the bathroom, turn on the water, take the scissors from the mirror to cut and change her hair color. Remove the LED and turn off the water.

In the bedroom, find the magazine on the nightstand under the TV. Take the remote from the bed and switch to the news channel (a decline in public opinion is inevitable).

In conversation with Alice:

When Alice returns to her business, try to leave — Kara will notice the police downstairs.

Meeting Ralph

Going downstairs, Kara will find Ralph with a dead animal next to Alice. He will ask you to sit down at the table — agree and sit down with the girl.

Ralph will scare them while trying to feed them dinner. When Alice gets scared and Ralph asks a question, tell the truth—that you don’t want to eat this food.

After Ralph gets upset and sits down, ask him about the dead body in the bathroom. He will answer, but insist again—this will calm Ralph down, and he will sink into sadness.

The Search for Connor and Hank

Control will switch to Connor. Follow the path around the house to the door. Before entering, you can look through the window—you will see Ralph there. Enter the house and scan it. After scanning three points, Ralph’s stress level indicator will appear on the screen.

Source of stress — Kara and Alice under the stairs. During the search, you can choose lines for Ralph, but as soon as you find the hiding place, Ralph will grab Connor, and Kara and Alice will run away.

Chase across the highway

Run down the street to the marker. The officer will redirect you in the other direction. At the next marker, Kara and Connor will meet up—Kara will run toward the highway.

Play as Karu: press the buttons on the screen to avoid colliding with cars.

Playing as Connor: When Hank tells you to let them go, you will choose whether to surrender or pursue them. If you choose to pursue them, Connor will jump over the fence and try to cross the highway. Press all the prompts that appear.

Control will return to Kara—avoid obstacles. Eventually, Connor will grab Kara, and she will have to fight him off. Press and hold all buttons to break free. After that, Kara will disappear, Connor will lose track of them, and the chapter will end.
