The chapter begins with a scene where Connor and Hank are preparing to interrogate a deviant android. Once you take control of your character and enter the room, your first task is to gather information before starting the conversation.
Preparing for questioning
Head to the table where the deviant is sitting. There are files on the table — examine them carefully, as this will unlock an additional option in the upcoming dialogue. In addition to the documents, you can examine the android itself and look towards the glass window — this will trigger a short cutscene.
After examining all the available objects in the room, take a seat opposite the deviant. Your goal is to get him to confess.
Interrogation techniques and stress management
When the interrogation begins, the game will offer two options: proceed directly to the questions or conduct a preliminary analysis. Select the android analysis — scan all five available points on its body. After scanning, you will see the deviant’s current stress level, which will be a key parameter throughout the interrogation.
Critically important: stress balance
Your task is to keep the stress level within a certain range until the interrogation is complete. Too low a level will not yield a confession, but if the stress reaches a critical point, the android will activate its self-destruct protocol.
Interrogation strategy
The first step is to show the deviant photos from the file. This action will increase his stress. Next, the game will offer a choice between two approaches: threats (increase tension) or empathy (reduce stress).
Recommended tactics:
- Start with threatening remarks and continue to pressure the android during the next few elections.
- Keep an eye on the stress indicator—as soon as it approaches the upper limit of the acceptable range, switch to friendly responses.
- The “Probe Mind” option causes a sharp spike in stress — use it with caution and only if the level is far from critical
When the indicator is within the desired range and you have completed the series of questions, the deviant will begin to talk about the events that have taken place. After a brief exchange, you will have the opportunity to ask new questions.
Important note: If you have gathered enough evidence in the “Partners” chapter, the list of available dialogue options will expand.
Final stage of questioning
In the second round of questions, focus on three topics:
- RA9 — Listen to the deviant’s explanation of this mysterious entity.
- Statue — ask about the statue you found at the crime scene
- Attic — find out why the android decided to hide there
Answers to all three questions will constitute a full confession. After that, get up from the chair and head for the exit of the interrogation room.
Critical moment: intervention
As soon as you stand up, officers will burst into the room and try to capture the deviant by force. Their actions will cause a sharp increase in the android’s stress level. If the indicator reaches its maximum, self-destruction will occur.
You have the opportunity to prevent tragedy: intervene three times, stopping the officers before the android explodes. Successful intervention will lead to the following results:
- The android will remain intact and will be moved to the holding cell.
- There will be no casualties
- Hank’s trust in Connor will increase
After the cinematic scene ends, the chapter will conclude.
