Chapter 23: Public Enemy

Meeting Amanda in the garden

The chapter begins with Connor in control. Your first task is to find Amanda, who is in the garden. Cross the bridge to the left, where you will see a small boat. Amanda is waiting for you there.

Get on the boat and interact with the oars. A dialogue will begin while you are rowing. Answer Amanda’s questions as follows to increase her trust:

• Tell us about Hank
• Select the option “Determined”
• Then select the option “No Use”

Your answers directly affect Amanda’s trust level. After the conversation ends, Connor will head to the Stratford building, where he will meet with Hank.

Investigation at the Stratford building

Initial briefing

Once you have control of Connor, hold down the button to automatically follow Hank and the officers. This will activate the cinematic briefing mode. On the way, note the surveillance camera above the first door.

After the briefing, the group will enter the main studio—the scene of the previous chapter’s events.

Gathering evidence

First, study the footage on the monitor—you will scan Marcus’s image. After a brief conversation with Hank, you are free to explore the room.

Important evidence for analysis:

• Cap on the floor
• Bullet holes in the walls near the cap
• Blue blood near the walls
• Surveillance camera recordings (available on the opposite side of the control panel)

Review the camera footage — scroll through the material and scan the marker that appears.

Interrogation of Androids

Head to the kitchen straight ahead. There are three identical androids there, among which a deviant accomplice is hiding.

Methods for identifying deviants

Ask each android questions and carefully observe their reactions. Available actions:

1. Survey — ask questions to all three
2. Threats — apply psychological pressure
3. Probing — check for deviance (no reaction means it is not deviant)
4. Torture — extracting the android’s core (optional method, but causes a reaction from a true deviant)

A true deviant will reveal itself by reacting either to your actions or to the torture of one of the other androids.

Critical moment

The deviant’s attack

After being exposed, the deviant will attack Connor. Quickly press the buttons that appear to defend yourself. As a result of the attack, Connor will take damage and his core will be torn out.

Important: You have limited time! Look at the floor, find the core, and use the hints to move around. Restore the core before the timer runs out, or Connor will die.

The decisive choice

After the restoration, you will see the deviant fighting Hank and the others. You are faced with a critical choice:

• Call Hank
• Grab the officer’s weapon and shoot the deviant

Recommendation: Choose the second option. Grab the gun and shoot the deviant. This will save Hank’s life and prevent a mass slaughter. After a short scene, the chapter will end.

Alternative scene: Roof

At some point, Connor may discover evidence suggesting that the Deviant may not have jumped off the roof. After investigating the location, the game will direct you to the Deviant’s location.
