The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom

This quest unlocks access to the magical creature care system. The house elf Dick will teach you how to use a grab bag, and as a reward, you will receive a vivarium and an enchanted loom to improve your equipment.

Start of quest: conversation with Dick

Go to the Help Room — upon entering, a scene will automatically start where Dick shows off the grab bag he found. After the video, approach the elf (he is standing next to the flying powder fireplace) and select the dialogue option about being ready to learn.

The rescue of three magical creatures

Fluffy

Dick teleports you outside Hogwarts to the fluffy creatures’ lair. Here you will receive a grab bag — assign it to your spell slot.

How to catch:

After successfully capturing it, talk to Dick again—he will point out the nest of talking birds nearby.

The Talking Bird

Cross the bridge and find Dick on the opposite side. The elf will give you an important tactical tip: the Levioso spell slows down flying creatures, making them easier to capture.

Procedure: Sneak up on the tree with the talking birds → apply Levioso to the target → quickly switch to the grab bag → follow the two on-screen prompts to successfully capture it.

Moon Calf

Dick will tell you about the moon calves nearby, but there is a catch — these creatures are only active at night. Open the map and use the wait function to change day to night.

It takes three button presses to catch a moon calf. It is recommended to use Levioso beforehand so that the creature does not have time to escape.

Creating a vivarium

Returning to the Rescue Room is accompanied by a cutscene: you conjure up a vivarium — a spacious greenhouse for keeping rescued animals in.

Go inside and open the creature control menu. Release all three pets: the fluffy one, the talking bird, and the moon calf.

Dick will mention a shop in Hogsmeade where animals can be left when there is not enough space in the vivarium.

Caring for creatures and gathering materials

Well-groomed animals periodically yield valuable resources. Equip a brush and food, then feed and groom each creature.

Materials received:

• Fluffy → fluffy fur
• Moon calf → moon calf wool
• Talking bird → talking bird feathers

Collect all three resources and return to Dick for your reward.

The Enchanted Loom

The elf will give you a drawing of a loom. Leave the vivarium, activate the enchantment spell, and find the loom in the “Utilities” tab. Place it in any convenient location in the Help Room.

Working with the machine:

1. Interact with the loom
2. Select an equipment item with an empty slot (displayed as a darkened circle)
3. Add an available trait from your collection
4. Perform one upgrade on any equipped item

After completing these steps, speak with Dick to complete the quest.
