This quest begins with learning defensive magic, specifically the Levioso spell. This initial training introduces you to the basic mechanics of combat, which will be useful throughout your magic training.

Arrival at class

Go to the designated classroom for your scheduled class. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by Professor Hecate, who oversees defensive magic training. Two of your classmates, Sebastian Sallow and Leander Pruett, will also be present.

Professor Hecat casts Levioso spell.

The professor introduces you to the Levioso spell, using the spell mechanics you are already familiar with. After successfully demonstrating the wand movement, you will practice on a training dummy using a specific sequence of actions: perform a standard attack, then use Levioso to destroy the golden barrier, and finish with another basic strike.

Your first magical duel

Sebastian Sallow challenges you to a training duel, which will be your first combat encounter. You will be able to use three techniques: your basic spellcasting ability, the recently mastered Levioso spell, and Protego—a protective shield that, when timed correctly, allows you to counterattack with Stupefy.

The outcome of this practice match does not affect your progress. Professor Hecate will recognize your achievements regardless of the result.

What will happen next

Sebastian Sallow speaks in Hogwarts attire.

At the end of the class, Sebastian approaches you with intriguing information. He mentions an underground organization of duelists operating near the Clock Tower, led by a student named Lucan Brattleby. This discovery opens up additional opportunities to hone your combat skills outside of the official curriculum.

This class will successfully equip you with the necessary self-defense skills and help you establish connections with your classmates, who will play an important role in your future adventures at Hogwarts.
