Herbology lesson in Hogwarts Legacy — complete walkthrough of the quest

This assignment immerses you in the world of magical plants at Hogwarts. Professor Garlik will introduce you to the basics of herbology and teach you how to use botanical knowledge in battle.

The path to the greenhouses

Head to the greenhouse area and enter the classroom on the left. Here you will meet Professor Garlik, a teacher of herbology. After a brief introduction, a lecture on mandrake will begin.

Practice with plants

Working with mandrake. Remove the mandrake root from the pot by following the on-screen prompts, then plant it back in.

Private conversation with the professor. Approach Professor Garlik in the corner of the room for a private conversation. After that, move to your table to plant the plants.

Planting ash trees. Plant ash tree seeds in a pot — the professor will praise you for your success and tell you about Chinese cabbage.

Getting to know the combat plant

Leander Pruett will join you. Go with him to the adjacent greenhouse, where Chinese mustard greens are growing in the beds. Take a few specimens and do the following:

1. Open the tools menu
2. Select and equip the cabbage
3. Use it to attack the training dummy at the end of the room

After demonstrating the plant’s combat capabilities, talk to Leander about the practical application of cabbage. Return to the classroom and talk to Professor Garlik — a short dialogue will complete the quest.
