What you’ll do in this section

  • Ride a single obstacle path after the Giant Beetle fight.
  • Split roles: Cody pilots the insect while May clears threats and blockers.
  • Reach the Wasp Queen arena and transition straight into a boss battle.
  • Break through living insect swarms that protect the Queen.
  • Expose weak points (marked by red Xs), then use sap + ignition to damage them.
  • Use the rail to reach and attack the rear of the robot.
  • Survive a high-pressure second phase with multiple bomber swarms.
  • Finish the fight by destroying the chain that holds the mechanism together.

Ride the insect to the arena

Take the only path forward

Climb onto the insect and follow the one available route. This stretch is essentially a moving gauntlet—keep momentum and react to what spawns ahead.

Coordinate your roles on the move

Cody stays focused on steering and keeping the mount on the track. May’s job is to remove incoming wasps and deal with anything that physically blocks the route.

If the path feels “too busy,” it’s usually a timing problem: Cody keeps the line steady while May clears threats as they arrive, not after they pile up.

Push through to the end of the run

Keep advancing until the route funnels you into the Wasp Queen encounter. There’s no alternate exit—once you arrive, you’re committed to the fight.

Understand the fight setup

The Wasp Queen is a mechanical robot guarded by living insects. You can’t meaningfully progress until you clear the swarms that protect her and reveal her marked weak points.

Phase 1: Strip the protection and burn the weak points

Clear both swarms first

Two swarms matter here:

  • A swarm that forms a “living shield” in front of the Queen.
  • A separate swarm that actively attacks the players.

Destroy both swarms to weaken her defenses and reveal vulnerable spots.

Hit the red-X weak points with the co-op combo

Once the weak points appear (look for the red X markers), do the standard pairing:

  • Cody coats the exposed spot with sap.
  • May ignites the sap to deal damage.

Repeat this cycle as new marked weak points become available.

Reach the back of the robot via the rail

To apply the same sap-and-ignite damage to the Queen’s rear, move onto the rail system and use it to line up attacks from behind. Treat it like positioning: get the angle, then execute the combo on the marked targets.

Phase 2: Survive the bomber swarms

When the Queen drops under half health, the fight shifts. Multiple bomber-style swarms begin striking at once, and the camera pulls up above the characters.

Your goal is survival first:

  • Keep moving and dodging continuously.
  • Avoid getting boxed in by overlapping attack patterns.

Critical warning: if both players go down during this phase, the restart can push you back close to the start of the sequence—play it safe and prioritize staying alive over rushing damage.

Final sequence: Rail orbit and chain weak point

Near the end, the arena drops away and Cody and May end up on a rail, circling the robot. At this point, the Queen has a single remaining vulnerable target: the chain holding the mechanism.

Stay locked on that chain and remove it to end the battle. Use your usual sap setup and ignition timing to finish it cleanly.
