What’s new in this chapter

Cody

  • Shoots a vine/whip to grab and hold targets in place (hooks, flaps, enemies).
  • Ground-pounds special soil pots to transform into plants for traversal/combat (including dandelion and cactus), and later grows leaf platforms for May.

May

  • Uses a scythe for close-range attacks and cutting infected growth.
  • Uses a water cannon/hose to wet dry soil pots and activate certain blue plants.

Walkthrough: Green Fingers, step by step

1) First infected plant + first soil pot (dandelion)

  • Cody: Use the vine to pull open the plant flap so the weak spot is exposed.
  • May: Slash the exposed infection with the scythe until it’s cleared.
    Then:
  • May: Water the dry soil pot until it becomes usable.
  • Cody: Ground-pound the pot to become a dandelion and float across the gap.
    On the far side:
  • Cody: Use the vine to pull down the hook/branch and keep it held.
  • May: Grapple/swing across to regroup.

2) Next soil pot (cactus to clear the blockage)

  • May: Water the next soil pot.
  • Cody: Transform into the cactus turret and shoot through the plant/pumpkin blockage to open the path.

3) Leaf-platform section (get May over the gap)

You’ll reach a stretch where May can’t cross alone.

  • Cody: Use the soil transformation that lets you grow leaf platforms along the route.
  • May: Use those leaves as stepping stones to reach the other side (if you miss a jump, ask Cody to grow more).

4) Blue pitcher plant (open the way forward)

In this area, look for a blue pitcher-shaped plant up the side path.

  • May: Get in position (often up the trunk/ledge) and spray the blue pitcher plant to activate/open the route.
  • Cody: Use your plant form/leaf help to keep May moving toward the next weed/infected growth.
  • May: Cut down the weed with the scythe to clear progression.

Boss: Burrower (how to win cleanly)

Core loop is simple—trap it, then cut it:

  1. Both: Keep moving while it burrows and tracks you underground.
  2. When it pops out, it may fire small explosive projectiles—dodge first, don’t greed hits.
  3. Cody: The moment you have a clear window, whip/vine the Burrower and hold it.
  4. May: Run in and scythe it hard while Cody maintains the hold.
  5. Repeat. Extra enemies can spawn—if you’re getting overwhelmed, clear the minions, then resume trapping the boss.

Quick fixes (common co-op snags)

  • “Cody can’t transform.” The soil pot usually isn’t fully activated—have May water it until it clearly registers as usable.
  • “May can’t cross on the hook.” Cody must keep the vine pull engaged until May has fully grappled and landed.
  • “Leaf jump feels impossible.” Ask Cody to grow a closer leaf instead of forcing a long jump—this section is built for iterative platform placement.
