This chapter introduces magnet powers. The rule is always the same: opposites attract, same colors repel. May holds the blue half. Cody holds the red half.

Magnet powers (remember it this way)

  • Cody (red): pulls blue, pushes red.
  • May (blue): pulls red, pushes blue.

When you’re stuck, stop and check the color on the object (disc, handle, bridge segment, mechanism). Then pick the player who can pull it (opposite color) or push off it (same color).

Key checkpoint 1: The cog tower that must be flipped

You’ll reach a tower/room where progress depends on a rotating mechanism with magnetic faces.

Do this:

  1. Cody attaches to the blue magnetic spot to get across to the mechanism.
  2. Cody rotates/turns the mechanism so the red magnetic face is positioned for May.
  3. May uses the red-facing side to cross and continue.

Tip: If May can’t reach, the red face usually isn’t presented cleanly—rotate again until it’s directly usable.

Key checkpoint 2: Rebuilding the split bridge to the cabin

This is the “two halves won’t stay aligned” bridge.

Do this:

  1. Cody uses red repulsion to swing/roll his bridge half into the correct position.
  2. May holds the aligned half in place from the far side so it doesn’t roll back.
  3. Cody walks onto the stabilized half, then pulls the other half (with a blue magnet) toward himself to lock the bridge together.

If the bridge keeps snapping back, it’s almost always because May isn’t anchoring it while Cody lets go.

Key checkpoint 3: Frozen Winter Village — ring the first bell

When you arrive at the frozen village, your goal is to “break the ice” by ringing a bell to open up the area.

Do this:

  1. At the central tower entrance, Cody raises the large stone (using the nearby mechanism/handle).
  2. With the stone lifted, May uses her blue magnet movement to reach the first ledge, then climbs higher using the stone as a wall-jump surface while Cody adjusts/maintains its height.
  3. At the top, interact with the bell mechanism to ring it and melt the ice blocking the next path.

Quick troubleshooting (saves time)

  • Can’t reach a disc/handle? You’re probably using the wrong action: try push off same color vs pull to opposite color.
  • A bridge/platform won’t stay put? One player usually must hold/anchor while the other repositions the moving part.
  • Don’t overthink most puzzles: match the color, coordinate timing, move on.
