According to well-known insider Tom Henderson, the long-rumored Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake may be scheduled for release on March 19, with an official announcement potentially happening in January.
The information reportedly comes from an internal Ubisoft document dated late last year, which included release plans for multiple upcoming projects.
Ubisoft Document Also Mentioned Prince of Persia Remake — But Plans Changed
Interestingly, the same document also listed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake for a January 16 release window — something that ultimately did not happen.
Because of that, it’s very possible the information regarding Black Flag’s remake is now outdated, and Ubisoft may have shifted both the marketing timeline and the release date for the project.
Prince of Persia Remake Still Expected to Launch First
Despite the uncertainty, Ubisoft has previously stated in official reports that the Prince of Persia remake is expected to release earlier than the Black Flag remake.
That suggests the Assassin’s Creed IV remake could still be on the way, but Ubisoft’s internal roadmap may have been adjusted behind the scenes.
Ubisoft Tightens Security After Recent Hack
For now, fans will have to wait for official news.
Even insiders have been unusually quiet lately, as multiple sources claim Ubisoft has significantly increased internal security after a recent breach. The company is reportedly cracking down on leaks more aggressively than ever, making it harder for information to surface ahead of announcements.
Until Ubisoft confirms anything publicly, the rumored dates should be treated as tentative.
