After escaping from the Mono Hospital, Mono and Six find themselves back on the gloomy streets of Pale City. Ahead of them lie confusing apartments, puzzles involving elevators and televisions, encounters with the Watchers, and a confrontation with the Thin Man. Below is a detailed step-by-step guide to this section of the game.

Return to the streets and first encounter with the Spectator

Once you’re outside, the first thing you should do is look down the alley behind you—you’ll find a shifted sewer grate there. Go down the stairs to find the glowing remains, then climb back up.

Walk up the alley, then turn right. Soon you will hear the sound of falling bodies: at first in the distance, but gradually getting closer. You will see an open door on your right — go inside.

You will find yourself in a residential building. Climb the stairs until you hear music coming from the open door on the right. Something will crash through the ceiling and crawl away—this is your first Spectator. Follow it to the right: the creature has crashed headfirst into the TV. Jump onto the TV to reach the window — the Spectator won’t touch you. Outside, jump from the ledge onto the canopy, jump onto the canopy behind, climb the stairs, jump onto the next one, and climb through the window.


Apartments with Viewers

In the next area, you will encounter several Spectators, but they are all absorbed in watching television and pose no threat as long as the screens are on. Walk down the hallway and find a hole in the wall that you can crawl through.

In the room behind him, the Sixth will push you to open the door on the right. Behind it is a bathroom with a Viewer in front of the TV. Crawl through the ventilation hole on the opposite wall and you will find yourself in a corridor.


Puzzle with an elevator

Ahead is an elevator with a lever inside. Go down to it and pull the lever. The elevator will go up, but you need a key to pass through, so go back down.

On your way down, note the hole in the wall on the right and the boards you can climb on. Pull the lever in the elevator again and, while the cabin is rising, jump onto the platform and climb up — you will find yourself right in front of the locked elevator.

Where to find the key: go into the room on the left — the key is in the first drawer at the bottom right. Open the elevator.

The sixth one will be suitable for placing you next to the lever on the left wall, but first you need to solve the puzzle:

Over rooftops and a collapsing building

From here, you can see the Signal Tower. Move to the right and climb through the window next to the door—inside, you’ll find another set of glowing remains. Pull the cage toward the door to open it and reunite with Six.

Climb up the wall to the canopy and cross the roof. There you will find a mechanism for transporting the Sixth: after she lifts you up, turn it until the hook is next to her, then turn it again. When the Sixth crosses over, jump — she will catch you.

Climb both staircases to the broken one, then climb the pipe next to it to the open window. Inside is a corridor, but the building is starting to collapse, so run forward. When you reach the door, push it open with the Sixth.

Keep running until everything collapses. After the cutscene, save the Sixth, go to the door on the right—she will lift you up to open it. Move down the corridor to the open door on the right.


The Appearance of the Thin Man

There is a TV in the room that you can interact with. The cutscene will show the Thin Man — he will come out of the screen and start chasing you and Sixth. Immediately run and hide in the room opposite, under the bed.

When he leaves, return to the television. You will be sucked into the screen and thrown into a random room. Climb onto the bookcase, then onto the chair, and from there onto the wooden planks above.

Here is another TV portal that will transport you outside. Turn the crank to the left of the TV and move it all the way to the right. Then go through the door on the left back inside and use the portal again—this time it will take you to the stairs.

Climb the ladder, crawl through the hole in the wall, jump onto the canopy, and move to the right. Swing on the hook and fly to the other side. Continue to the right until you reach the window.

Inside, on the opposite side, there is a TV. Go down the stairs—there is a remote control on the floor in front of the TV. Pick it up and turn on the TV, then interact with it to move to the upper floor.

Behind the door is a post office with another TV that you can’t reach. Jump to the other side and continue until you reach a large room with a TV at the bottom. Go down and turn it on with the remote control.

Tip: Instead of jumping to the other side, climb down through the ventilation shaft first. You will find a collectible hat in the ventilation shaft on the opposite side.

There is a cart with boxes at the far end of the room — roll it to the center to create a platform for jumping. Then use the TV to teleport back.

Once on the other side, climb up to the large hole in the wall and grab the coat hanger—it will transport you to another building. But before entering the door on the right, return to the window and climb through the open window behind it. There you will find the shimmering remains next to the porcelain statue of the Mistress. Then go back and go through the door.


Manipulation of TVs and Viewers

The Viewer is sitting in front of the TV in the room — slip past him into the kitchen. Stand on the counter by the sink and turn on the TV outside. Return to the living room and turn off that TV so that the Viewer goes to watch the outside screen. Turn on the living room TV again, jump over it, and you will find yourself outside.

You will fall into a room with a TV. Important: before turning it on, exit through the window on the right and push the other TV so that when you teleport, you land in the building and not on the street. Only then turn on the TV and walk through it.


The trap with the viewer and electricity

In the next area behind you, there is a lever, but first go to the door on the right and tear off a few boards to lure the Watcher inside. Quickly run to the lever and pull it—an electric shock will pass through the water and kill the creature.

Don’t forget to switch the lever back before going to the door. Next, to the right, there is another TV to turn on. Crawl through the ventilation on the right and jump down onto the pile of rubbish.


Puzzle with elevator and TV

In the room on the left, you need to get to the lever by the elevator. Take the box tied with rope and place it under the lever so you can stand on it and pull. Turn on the TV in the elevator.

Move right along the corridor. A box is blocking the ventilation shaft—move it aside and crawl through.

The next area is dangerous: the floor is covered with electrified water, and there is a Spectator in the next room. Climb onto the toilet and jump to the dry area in the doorway.

To get through the door on the right, you need a stool next to the Spectator, but you can’t get close to it. Solution: go back to the bathroom doorway and turn off the TV there. Jump back onto the toilet. The Spectator will rush at you, but will step into the water and be electrocuted. Now calmly take the stool and open the door.

There is a crowd of spectators watching TV on the street, but you don’t need to approach them. Just climb through the window on the right.

The collector’s hat is on the shelf at the back left — you can reach it with a trolley.

Push the cart into the water, climb onto the shelves on the right, jump onto the cart, and make your way to the door on the left. Behind the door, climb onto the table in the far left corner, jump onto the bookcase, and crawl through the ventilation shaft—it leads straight to the lever. Pull it.

Go downstairs, grab the cart, and place it between the first shelf and the TV on the right. Return to the lever and turn the power back on (there are boxes next to it for a safe return to dry ground). Now get to the TV.

After teleporting, climb onto the TV and exit through the window. Down below, on the canopy, there are even more Spectators in the alley and several below you. Climb down to the ground: there is a TV ahead, but it is behind glass.

On the other side, go right into the room with the TV. The Sixth will appear on the screen—approach and try to pull her out. But the Thin Man will grab her and climb out of the screen to chase you.

Run to the door, pick up the axe from the floor, and chop it down. Once you’ve broken through, climb up the panels on the right, jump down, duck under the pipes, and climb through the hole in the floor.

Now you are under the floorboards—move quietly. The thin man will appear above, so avoid the holes in the floor when he passes by. Once you reach the other side, crawl through the opening and drop into the hallway.

When you come to, pay attention to the flickering remains of the Sixth on the left. Follow her—she will lead you up, into an alley, and to a staircase. Climb up and take the stairs to the top—you will return to the streets.
