Yakuza Kiwami 3 Demo Graphics Fix: Day-One Patch

Kazuma Kiryu stands in rainy neon city street

Fans who downloaded the Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties demo recently noticed something off. The graphics around Kubochi River in Downtown Ryukyu looked dull, flat, and buggy. Lighting felt broken, colors appeared washed out, and visual glitches were everywhere. Players started panicking, wondering if this was the final product they’d get on release day.

But RGG Studio quickly jumped in to calm the storm. The developer explained on their official Japanese Twitter that the demo was built alongside the main game and doesn’t represent the final version. They promised a day one patch v1.11 launching February 12 that will fix lighting issues, bugs, and other quality concerns.

What RGG Studio Promises to Fix

The studio assured fans that the full game will deliver proper depth, realism, and significant graphical improvements. Here’s what the patch will address:

  • Broken lighting problems in various locations
  • Visual bugs and glitches throughout the demo
  • Color grading and exposure issues
  • Overall quality improvements for the final release

About Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties

Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a remake of the 2009 PS3 original, bundled with Dark Ties, a fresh spin-off focused on antagonist Yoshitaka Mine. The Dark Ties story takes inspiration from Yakuza Online, the mobile game. According to the director, Life at Morning Glory content plays a key role in this release.

Platform Availability

The game launches on multiple platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. As a bonus, players get 12 retro Sega Game Gear titles plus 3 games from Bandai Namco.

Fan Reactions and Community Response

The demo currently sits with “mostly negative” reviews on Steam. Players complained about graphics, combat mechanics, and the voice actor replacement for Goh Hamazaki with Teruyuki Kagawa. The graphical issues reminded longtime fans of overexposure problems that plagued earlier series entries.

However, the modding community already stepped up. A work-in-progress mod called FilterLESS And Enhanced Lighting appeared on Nexus Mods, offering lighting improvements for those who can’t wait for the official patch.

RGG Studio has always listened to its community, and this quick response shows they’re committed to delivering quality. The free demo is available now, so don’t let the current graphics scare you off—better visuals are coming February 12!
