By the end of the game, Major P-3 learns a shocking truth about his past and those he trusted.

The Truth About P-3’s Wife and the Twins It turns out that P-3 had a wife, but he lost his memory due to war injuries. Sechenov implanted a neuropolymer extension into his brain, which erased his painful memories (including his memory of his wife). P-3’s wife’s body could not be saved, but Sechenov preserved a copy of her professional skills (she was a martial arts master and a ballerina) and uploaded them into two elite bodyguard robots—Left and Right (the Twins).

Who is the real villain? Throughout the game, HRAS (voiced by Zakharov) convinces P-3 that Sechenov wants to enslave humanity by trapping people’s minds in Limbo. Zakharov insists on killing Sechenov.

The player must make a choice: Fight Sechenov or Leave (Do not fight).

Ending 1 (Battle with Sechenov – Zakharov’s True Nature) If P-3 decides to attack Sechenov:

  1. The major defeats the Twins and reaches the scientist.
  2. A massive plot twist is revealed: Sechenov had no intention of controlling people’s minds.
  3. It was KHRAS (Zakharov) who secretly used the neuromodule in P-3’s head to send him into the Limb and use the Major’s body to kill Molotov and Dr. Larisa.
  4. Zakharov electrocutes P-3, breaks free from the glove, jumps into the tub of red polymer, forms a body for himself, and kills Sechenov.
  5. Then Zakharov breaks the Alpha connector and sends P-3 into eternal Limbo (where he is happy in his illusions), while he himself takes control of the entire Collective 2.0 network. The result: Zakharov deceived us and took over the world.

Ending 2 (Refusal to Fight – “Good” Ending) If P-3 refuses to believe HRAS and decides to leave:

  1. The major is aware of the inconsistencies. He understands that the module in his head was created by Zakharov himself, and that if Sechenov had wanted to enslave the world, he would have used these very hidden implants, rather than creating the public “Thought” devices.
  2. P-3 rips the glove off his hand, refusing to be a pawn in someone else’s game.
  3. The Major leaves Enterprise 3826.
  4. The slides in the credits indicate that the “Collective” network is functioning normally, which means the Soviet leadership had no plans to manipulate minds.

This ending (Major’s departure) conceptually echoes the philosophy of BioShock (“Man chooses, slave obeys”). For the first time in his life, P-3 makes an independent decision, refusing to blindly follow orders, whether they come from Sechenov or are the result of Zakharov’s manipulation.
