After the train crash and your arrival in the open world of Atomic Heart, secret underground complexes—known as Polygons—will become available to you. These are testing zones featuring puzzles and valuable loot—blueprints for upgrading weapons, which are stored in special robot chests (Lutyagins). In this section of the guide, we’ll cover the first three Polygons.
Test Area 1: Basic Magnets

This is the simplest arena, perfect for warming up. Do not disable the robots via the control terminal (Volan), or you won’t be able to open the entrance!
- How to open the entrance: Climb the tower with Volan and connect to the cameras. Find the camera facing the blue booth and press the interact button to open the door.
- Puzzles: Inside, you’ll find basic rooms with electromagnets. Use Shock (electricity) on the magnetic coils on the ceiling to raise and lower the platforms. In the second room, combine Shock attacks with dashes in the air.
- Rewards:
- Bronze Lutagin: An upgraded handle for the “Fox” axe.
- Silver Lutagin: Expansive Converter for PM (damage to organic targets).
- Golden Lutagin: Extended magazine for the shotgun and an alternative attack for the “Star”.
Test Area 6: Rotating Platforms

This exercise tests your spatial reasoning.
- How to open the entrance: There are two Volans near the testing ground. You need the one located behind the pond (you can descend to it using the Griffin). Connect to the camera and open the entrance pipe. Warning: an aggressive robot roams near the entrance.
- Puzzles: Here you need to turn valves that rotate entire cube-shaped rooms. In the first room, align the platforms so that you can first reach the lock (you need to click with your fingers), and then return to the valve to turn the open door into a position convenient for passage.
- Rewards:
- Bronze Lutyagin: Increased magazine capacity for the PM (up to 19 rounds).
- Silver Lutya: Red dot sight for the Kalashnikov.
- Gold Lutagin: Upgrade for the Electro and “Drill” attack for the Snowball.
Level 9: Energy Orbs and Ivy

One of the most dangerous areas, requiring preparation. We recommend clearing the area of flying mutants (Escapes) first.
- How to open the entrance: Griff, who controls the cameras, is entangled in mutant vines. You need to go down into the sewer pipes (through the water) and find four boilers. Turn them on to burn down the mutants’ lair. Only then will Griff take off, the cameras will start working, and you’ll be able to open the entrance (located to the left of the Lenin statue).
- Puzzles and Bosses: The main mechanic involves moving glowing energy orbs to activate doors and platforms. In the middle of the arena, a difficult battle with the Ivy boss awaits you. Use fire grenades and axes against him.
- In the final room, you must alternately throw two energy orbs into the cells to climb higher and higher on the extending platforms.
- Rewards:
- Bronze Lutyagin: Collimator sight for the shotgun.
- Silver Lutagin: Upgrade for the Dominator.
- Golden Lutyagin: Blueprint for the Kalash (damage to robots) and a new grip for the Pashtet.
