This chapter is divided into two main locations: meeting Amanda in the east garden and working at the police station. Your decisions affect your relationships with key characters.
Meeting in the Japanese Garden

Connor finds himself in a Japanese garden. Cross the bridge ahead—Amanda is waiting for you there for a conversation.
Dialogic elections with Amanda:

During the conversation, you will have to make three important choices. The first concerns your condition — choose the option “Traumatized.“ Next, Amanda will ask about Anderson, and the correct answer here is “Intriguing.“ The final choice requires the option “Indifferent,“ which will positively influence Amanda’s opinion of you.
After the dialogue ends, the scene will move to the police station.
Search for Hank in the district
First steps in the building

Once you enter the area, head to the reception desk. Connect with the administrator and talk to her—this will open access to the next area. The officer nearby will tell you where Hank’s workplace is located: it is at the far end of the room, directly opposite you.
Waiting and researching

Hank hasn’t arrived yet, so you have time to examine his desk. Available actions:
- Listen to the headphones to learn about Hank’s musical preferences.
- Scan the items on the table for more information about the detective.
- Use the phone to leave Hank a voice message about your arrival
Alternative: studying the site

When Hank arrives, he will be called into the boss’s office for a briefing. You have two options: follow him to listen to the briefing, or explore the area on your own.

If you choose to investigate: go to the break room. There you will encounter other officers. One of them will start provoking Connor with questions. You can respond or refuse to engage in dialogue, but in the end, the officer will punch Connor in the stomach and leave with insults.

Working with Hank
Conversation after the briefing

Return to Hank’s desk after finishing your meeting with your superiors. The detective will be extremely upset. Every line of dialogue can increase his irritation. At the end, Hank will offer you the use of the neighboring desk to work on the deviant’s materials.

Deepening relations
If you have carefully studied Hank’s table earlier, you will have the opportunity to touch on personal topics:
- His dog
- Music preferences
- Basketball
- Reasons for hating androids
Each of these conversations affects Hank’s level of trust in Connor.
File analysis
When the dialogue options are exhausted, decide to begin your work. Examine the deviant’s file—first, you will scroll through several files sequentially, then process all the information instantly. This will be followed by a brief dialogue.
Final selection

Approach Hank to report. You will have to choose your response: first select “Understanding,” then “Determined.“ Hank will become aggressive toward Connor, but another officer will interrupt the conversation with information about a new lead. The scene will end, closing the chapter.
