After the introductory video, you will find yourself in the role of Marcus at the entrance to the Stratford Tower building. Your task is to get inside and broadcast an address to the people.

Penetration into the building

Man walking into Stratford building entrance lobby

Head to the reception desk on the left. Analyze the five points next to the employee—this will open up options for distracting them. A call will come in to the desk, and when the employee picks up the phone, select the School option. The person will leave their seat, giving you the opportunity to approach the android to the right of the desk and access the checkpoint.

Ascending to the 47th floor

Hand pressing elevator button on digital panel

Call the elevator near the security guard post and go up to the 47th floor. You will need to find the men’s restroom, located two corridors away from the elevator exit.

The best route: go around the building on the left, walk down two paths, and turn right—there you will see the entrance to the restroom. In the last stall, there is a uniform that Marcus can wear.

Operation on the 47th floor

Two workers exchange keycard in utility room

After changing clothes, find the service android—it is located in the nearest conference room by the wall. The android will give you a card to access the maintenance cart located right outside the conference room.

Detroit: Become Human Connor pushing cart in lobby

Take the cart to the fire exit at the far end of the floor (there is a green sign above it). Open the door—North will come in, and you can give her the map you received.

Follow North until you encounter the guards. They are standing in front of the door you need, and you will need to distract them. Turn around and walk to the automatic cleaning unit at the end of the corridor. Marcus will hack the device, causing it to malfunction. The guards will leave their posts to check the malfunction.

Important: Upon entering the room, immediately turn around and lock the door to prevent unauthorized entry. Then approach the window and follow the on-screen prompts to cut an opening (North will be occupied with other tasks at this time).

Climbing the tower

A lifting platform will fit through the cut-out window. Jump onto it and follow the on-screen prompts to start climbing. Press the jump button from the wall and hold the up movement to climb to the upper floors.

After a while, you will reach a window that you can cut open following the prompts that appear. Once it is open, use the buttons to go inside and meet North.

Team building

Two blue-uniformed workers talk outside industrial elevator

Go to the elevator shaft on the right and open it, letting Simon and Josh in. Go to the nearest door and place the charge on the handle to pick the lock.

Head to the main access corridor. At the end of the corridor, open the door—behind it, you will find guards that you will need to deal with.

Critical choice: security guards

Armed guard aims gun at security guards in lobby

Select the RUSE option and approach the counter. Once you are close enough, use the prompt to grab a weapon and intimidate the guards. Order them to stand up and turn around.

Android points gun at man against wall indoors

For a “good” ending: knock out both guards, but don’t kill them! This is important for achieving a peaceful ending.

Go through the door to the broadcast studio and press the call button.

Broadcast of the address

Police officer aiming gun at man in hallway

A short scene will begin in the studio, after which you will order the androids to retreat. One of the humans will break free and run away—you will have the choice to kill him or not. Spare him and let him escape—this is also important for the peaceful ending.

Go to Josh to start broadcasting the speech. Press the start button to begin the video, in which you will have to make a series of choices to shape Marcus’ speech.

The right choices for a peaceful ending

People watching android news screens in Detroit Become Human

To get a “good” ending to the game, your demands on people must be pacifist. Focus on the following topics:

  • Equal rights for androids
  • Recognition as a new species
  • Civil rights
  • Right to work
  • Means of Reproduction
  • The peaceful path (final choice)

Escape and the end of the chapter

Armored soldiers running down dark corridor with yellow lines

After the speech, security guards will storm into the studio and open fire on Marcus and his group. Simon will be wounded, and you will have to choose: save him or join North and Josh in the fight.

Choose to help Simon and carry him to the others using the on-screen prompts. The whole group evacuates through the door to the roof, but Simon is too badly injured to continue.

Another choice will appear: kill Simon or leave him. Select “Leave him” — this corresponds to a peaceful walkthrough.

Run to the edge of the building and jump off the roof. The final cutscene will start, showing the world’s reaction to Marcus’ speech (the content depends on your choices during the broadcast). After showing various news organizations, the chapter will end.

Additional information

Alternative scenario with guards: if you decide to shoot after grabbing the weapon, you can choose between a guard with a radio or a guard with a weapon. Shooting the guard with the radio will injure Simon. Shooting the armed guard will kill him. Either way, Simon is out of luck in this chapter.
