The Resident Evil series has always been known for its abundance of collectibles, and Resident Evil 9: Requiem is no exception. As you play as Grace and explore the Rhodes Hill Care Center, your main collectible will be Antique Coins.

They can be exchanged for extremely useful upgrades that will make survival much easier. In this guide, we’ll take a detailed look at where to find each ancient coin and what’s the best way to spend them.

What should I spend my ancient coins on in RE9 Requiem?

You can spend the coins you’ve collected in the Parlor. You’ll need exactly 17 antique coins to purchase all the basic upgrades, but there are even more hidden in the game. Each upgrade is unique, and the first one costs next to nothing, so you should invest in it as soon as possible.

Prices at the Living Room Store (Normal Difficulty):

Hip Pouch — 3 coins (Mandatory inventory expansion).

Steroids — 4 coins (Permanent increase to maximum health).

Stabilizer — 4 coins (Permanent increase in firepower).

Override Manual — 6 coins (Required to craft certain items using the Blood Collector).

Assortment in “Insanity Mode”:

If you’re playing on a high difficulty level, the items in the store change:

Hip Pouch — 3 coins.

Pistol ammunition (30 rounds) — 5 coins.

R.I.P. Knife — 5 coins.

Override Manual — 6 coins.

Bonus Coins (New Game Plus)

When replaying the game, defeating the boss Chunk will reward you with 4 ancient coins instead of a talisman (provided you already obtained the talisman the first time). This will help you purchase all upgrades much earlier.
