While exploring the Rhodes Hill Care Center in Resident Evil 9: Requiem, you’ve probably come across the so-called “Warped Closets.” Many players spend hours trying to find a crowbar or an upgrade for Grace to break into these hidden rooms.

Below, we’ll reveal the main secret of these cabinets and show you where to find each one so you don’t miss out on valuable loot.

How do I open the Distorted Cabinets?

Short answer: Grace can’t open them at all. This was done intentionally by the developers. The items inside aren’t meant for her, but for Leon. Once Grace finishes her search for the three key items from Quartz, control will switch to Leon. He’ll be the one to re-explore the medical center, and thanks to his brand-new hatchet, he’ll be able to easily chop through the warped doors of these cabinets.

It’s easy to miss these cabinets if you’re not paying attention, but they contain extremely useful resources and upgrades. We strongly recommend opening them all on your first playthrough.

All locations of the Distorted Cabinets and their rewards

There are a total of 5 Distorted Cabinets in the game. Below is a detailed list of their locations and what is hidden inside.

1. The Warped Wardrobe in the Attic

This is the first cabinet Leon will have access to, and one that Grace was physically unable to reach.

How to find it: After defeating the boss Chunk in the Attic, look to the right.

Reward: A Compensator for Leon’s “Alligator Snapper” shotgun (reduces recoil when firing), as well as the code for the safe in the Basement.

2. Corridor to the Bar & Lounge

Directions: After leaving the Chairman’s Office, walk down the hallway to the left. The cabinet is located right between the office and the Bar/Lounge.

Reward: A note with a clue on where to find the Pantry Key and Shotgun Shells.

3. Records Room / Archive

One of the most important secret locations in the game—don’t miss it.

How to find it: The recording room is next to the Office.

Reward: Mixed Grass (Green+Green), pistol ammunition, and a collectible—Mr. Raccoon Memoriam.

4. Pantry

How to find it: The pantry is adjacent to the kitchen. If you didn’t open it while playing as Grace, Leon can do it himself by taking out the chef and breaking in.

Reward: “Connoisseur” Weapon Charm. It can be attached to any of Leon’s firearms to passively increase damage.

5. Filing Room

How to find it: It’s located on the way to the Cold Storage. The cabinet is hidden behind the security door.

Important note: Leon won’t be able to reach this cabinet unless you’ve already opened this security door while playing as Grace. Be sure to do this in her scenario!

Reward: Pistol Ammo and a Med Injector.
