Resident Evil 9: Requiem introduces a variety of unique mechanics, one of which is Grace’s ability to craft items using Infected Blood.
Blood can be found throughout the Care Center and beyond. This system resembles the classic crafting from previous installments in the series, but in RE9, blood serves more as a form of currency. In this guide, we’ll take a detailed look at one of the most important crafting items—the Empty Injector. You’ll learn what it’s used for and where to find all the syringes in the game.
How to Use Empty Injectors in RE9 Requiem
Empty syringes are a basic component needed to create two of the most important permanent upgrades for Grace:
- Stabilizer: Improves weapon control and increases firepower.
- Steroids: Permanently increases Grace’s maximum health.
Initially, these items can be found in the Parlor and exchanged for Antique Coins. Since both upgrades are permanent, they are critical to successfully completing the game.
An important requirement for crafting:
To create a Stabilizer or Steroids using an empty syringe, you will need to follow a few steps:
- Increase the capacity of your Blood Collector by purchasing the Overdrive Manual in the Living Room. It will cost you 6 Ancient Coins.
- Find the Blood Specimen (Reversible). It is located behind the Level 1 security door in the Blood Lab.
Once you’ve gathered all the necessary tools, you’ll be able to upgrade Grace’s stats.
Where to Find All Empty Syringes: Locations in RE9 Requiem
1. Blood Lab

Your very first empty syringe is located in the same room as the Blood Sample (Reversible). Look for it behind the Level 1 security door inside the Blood Lab. If you already have the Overload Manual and a sufficient supply of infected blood, you can craft the necessary upgrade right away.
2. Records Room

The second empty syringe on the Care Center grounds is hidden in the Archives Room. You can get there through the Office, which is located one floor above the Custodian’s Office, right past the Living Room. To gain access, you will need an ID Wristband Level 1.
3. Basement — ⚠️ Don’t miss this!

The third syringe in the Care Center is located in the basement, where you’ll go to search for Joint Plugs.
When you approach the prison cells where the third and final plug is located, one of the zombies will break out of its cell and attack Grace. Kill it or dodge the attack, then enter the now-open cell—there’s an empty syringe inside.
Important Note: If you install all three Connectors before entering the chamber and picking up the empty syringe, you will permanently lose this item. It will be impossible to return to this area!
4. Additional syringe in Insanity Mode
For those playing on the highest difficulty level, Insanity, the developers have hidden another empty syringe. You can find it in the Kitchen.
