Resident Evil 9: Requiem is packed with dozens of secrets, but cracking safes is one of the best ways to gain a significant advantage early on in the game. There are six safes in total: four are located at the Rhodes Hill Care Center, and the other two appear later in the game at the ARK lab.

Once you’ve opened all the safes, you’ll receive valuable loot and unlock the “No Safe Is Safe” achievement/trophy.

An important lock-picking technique: When opening a lock, the direction of the disc’s rotation is just as important as the numbers themselves.

Left = Clockwise (<)

Right = Counterclockwise (>)

Below is a complete list of all locations, correct combinations, and rewards for the standard playthrough and “Madness” mode.

Safe Codes (Standard Mode)

1. Safe in the Bar & Lounge

This is the first safe you’ll encounter in RE9, though first you’ll have to clear the room of pesky enemies.

Code: Left 10, Right 80, Left 30 (<10 >80 <30)

Reward: 3x Antique Coins, which can be spent in the Parlor. Hint: You can also find Grace’s S&S M232 pistol near this safe.

2. Safe in the Examination Room

The second safe practically begs to be opened during the investigation of the Observation Room.

Code: Right 30, Left 10, Right 50 (>30 <10 >50)

Reward: 3x Ancient Coins. Combined with the coins from the first safe, this will be enough for a couple of great starting upgrades for Grace!

3. Safe in the Waiting Room

Take a look behind the counter in the waiting room. Surprisingly, someone has already broken into this safe before you.

  • Code: No code needed (already open).
  • Reward: 2x Ancient Coins.

4. Safe in the Basement / Boiler Room (Basement Furnace / Workshop)

To get into the room with the forklift in the Basement Boiler Room, use the Joint Plug or crawl through the narrow opening in the Workshop. You’ll find a safe in the side room. By the way, Leon already found the code for it in the Distorted Cabinet during his time at the Care Center.

Code: Right 60, Left 40, Right 80 (>60 <40 >80)

Reward: Raccoon Roundup Map and 10 pistol rounds. The map is incredibly useful—it marks all Mr. Raccoon figurines in the Care Center so you can go back and collect any you missed.

5. Safe in the ARK Sterilization Chamber

Get ready: this room in the ARK stage is swarming with Lizuns. The safe is located at the back of the room. You can find the code later by going down to Bio-Weapon Storage 05.

Code: Right 10, Left 90, Right 20 (>10 <90 >20)

Reward: Med Injector, 15 pistol rounds, and a Molotov cocktail. Essential supplies for survival in ARK.

6. Safe in the ARK Monitor Control Room

This is a safe room next to the Lobby (where you need two spheres to open the door). There are no enemies here, and the code is hidden inside one of the containers in Bioweapon Storage 05.

Code: Left 50, Right 60, Left 80 (<50 >60 <80)

Reward: Medical Injector, Bottle of Acid, and Empty Bottle.

Safe codes for Insanity Mode

If you play the game on the hardcore “Madness” difficulty level, the locations of all safes and hint notes remain the same. However, the combinations themselves change completely, and the rewards become more modest (for example, the safe in the Waiting Room will be completely empty, and the selection in the Salon is reduced).
